Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has sharply criticized Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, following a recent media interview in which Wike allegedly made disparaging remarks about Mohammed and his role as Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum.
In a statement issued on Thursday by his Media Adviser, Muhktar Gidado, Mohammed described Wike as a figure who thrives on creating drama and sowing division.
The statement reads, “The attention of Senator Bala Mohammed, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State and Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, has been drawn to the latest bombastic and disjointed media rant by Chief Nyesom Wike, the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

“In his typical style, Chief Wike embarked on one of his predictable tirades, full of contradictions, grandstanding, and puzzling displays of shifting loyalties that seem to align with the changing political climate.”
Mohammed accused Wike of incoherence, pointing out that his comments were riddled with contradictions, making it hard to discern any meaningful arguments. He stressed the need to address certain misrepresentations in Wike’s statements, particularly those aimed at undermining the PDP—a party instrumental in Wike’s political career.
“Chief Wike’s rise in politics is a direct product of the opportunities provided by the PDP. Ironically, he now appears determined to attack the very foundation that supported his ascent,” the statement added.
Mohammed expressed disappointment that Wike, who owes much of his success to the PDP, has chosen to undermine the party.

“Wike’s recent media outburst is a clear reflection of his transactional approach to politics, where personal ambitions take precedence over loyalty, principles, and the collective interest of the party,” the statement noted.
The Bauchi governor contrasted his own approach to politics with Wike’s, highlighting his commitment to public service over divisive theatrics.
“Unlike Wike, who thrives on drama and discord, Senator Bala Mohammed views politics as a platform to serve the public, not as a stage for self-serving theatrics,” it stated.
Mohammed also accused Wike of opportunism and inconsistency, emphasizing that his erratic behavior and alliances of convenience have alienated even his closest allies.
“Wike’s actions reveal him as a fair-weather friend and an unreliable ally—traits that have driven away even those who once supported him,” the statement concluded.
