On Tuesday evening, bandits launched an attack on the General Hospital in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State, injuring a doctor and abducting a hospital staff member.
The Public Relations Officer of the Katsina State Police Command, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, confirmed the incident during a phone conversation on Wednesday evening, stating, “Yes, I am aware of the attack.”
Details of the Attack
The incident occurred around 7:00 p.m., leaving Dr. Murtala Sale Dandashire, a doctor on duty, with a gunshot wound to his leg. He is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed medical facility.
Witnesses reported that the bandits entered the hospital premises while firing indiscriminately, causing panic among patients and staff. During the commotion, they abducted a yet-to-be-identified hospital worker and fled the scene.
