Consider your Health while Enjoying Valentine, NACA warns Nigerians

The National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) has issued a cautionary statement to Nigerians, advising them to safeguard their well-being while partaking in Valentine's Day festivities. Emphasizing the importance of personal safety and health, the agency stressed the need for individuals to exercise caution during expressions of affection on Valentine's Day.

Dr. Gambo Aliyu, the Director General of NACA, highlighted the significance of incorporating protective measures into intimate encounters, advocating for regular HIV testing and open discussions about sexual health within relationships.

These actions, Aliyu stated, not only benefit individual health but also contribute to the broader objective of creating safer and healthier communities. NACA underscored its commitment to promoting a healthy and responsible approach to celebrating love, particularly in light of ongoing global health concerns.

The agency announced plans to conduct extensive awareness campaigns on Valentine's Day, aimed at educating the public about the importance of both abstinence and safe sexual practices. By fostering an environment where love is celebrated responsibly, NACA aims to cultivate a supportive community that prioritizes both emotional fulfillment and physical well-being.
