ICYMI: UNILAG Convocation Gowns Stolen
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) recently faced a setback when a bus transporting academic gowns for its post-graduate students was vandalized and the gowns stolen. This incident occurred as the university prepared for its 54th convocation ceremony, where 340 graduates are expected to receive first-class degrees.
The graduates had been required to pay N15,000 each for gown collection. However, the theft has caused significant frustration among students, who were left waiting for their gowns.
In response to this unfortunate event, the University's School of Post-Graduate Studies (SPGS) communicated with the post-graduate students through a brief text message and email.
The message conveyed the
regrettable news that the distribution of SPGS academic gowns had to be
suspended due to the theft and damage to the bus.
