FRSC Reports a 14% Decrease in Road Accidents in Kogi

The Kogi State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps reported a 14% decrease in road accidents in 2023. Despite this, there were 58 vehicle collisions during the 2023 holiday season, resulting in 28 fatalities.

This information was provided by Samuel Oyediji, the sector commander, during a press briefing in Lokoja on Friday.

In comparison to the 2022/2023 period, these figures represent a significant drop in fatalities. Oyediji attributed this decline to various strategies implemented by the command as part of the FRSC's 'Operation Zero Tolerance' initiative, despite an increase in reported road traffic collisions from 50 to 58.
